Theresa passed away peacefully at Peace Arch Hospital, White Rock BC, on Saturday, March 30, 2024, a day after her 99th birthday.
Theresa was born in Port Arthur, Thunder Bay, Ontario, March 29, 1925, the only child of Viola Olive and John Andrew McKinley. They moved twelve times during her school years, and she used to joke about always being the "new kid" in class.
In 1943 she attended St. Paul's Hospital School of Nursing in Saskatoon, Sask. and graduated as a Registered Nurse in December 1946. She worked at St. Paul's Hospital & at a Doctor's Clinic in Prince Albert.
On August 20, 1947, she married Hugh Frederick Trann at the Chapel of St. Alban's Cathedral, Prince Albert, Sask., and they honeymooned in Banff. They had three boys in Prince Albert and in 1961 they moved to Brandon, Manitoba until 1966 when they relocated to the coast at North Delta.
Here she worked at a doctor's clinic and later at Hugh Trann's Menswear store which they owned in Cloverdale. Finally, she worked as a Librarian at the North Delta Library. They moved to South Surrey in 2003 and she eventually downsized to Amica Seniors Home in 2019.
Theresa loved travelling and visited Europe and Southeast Asia for various family events, like Doug & Diane's wedding in Malta, the birth of two grandsons in Singapore and many baseball tournaments in Jakarta and Perth Australia. Bali & Borobudur were exciting side trips too.
Theresa was pre-deceased by her parents & her husband, Hugh.
She is lovingly remembered by her sons and daughters-in-law, Patrick & Debbie, Douglas & Diane, Andrew & Novie, Caron. She was fortunate to have five grandchildren, Sean (Megan) & Jenny (Darrin), Stuart (Jennifer) & Ryan (Shannon), & Lauren (Greg). She also had seven great grandchildren, Aidan, Charlie & Ava, Hayden & Camryn, Abigail & Madeline, Scarlet & Jasmine. She enjoyed visiting with her family and was always at the centre of their lives.
There will be a family Celebration of Life for Theresa at a later date.
