PROFILES OF EXCELLENCE: Sparkle Dental Spa

At Sparkle Dental Spa, clients get much more than just a visit to the dentist.
Owned and operated by Dr. Sophia Lata Dahia, the South Surrey business opened in 2025, and has been offering its services to the local community for several months.
Dahia, who has been practising dentistry for more than 20 years, says she wanted to do something different with Sparkle Dental Spa.
Having worked in several different offices over the years, “I can see what works and what doesn’t,” Dahia said. “And what I really wanted to offer was a spa-inspired dentistry.”
That means a more open concept, longer appointments, and more education-based, and preventative-based dental care, she explained.
“Health and wellness is really important,” she noted. “I wanted to really focus on the link between the body and the mouth, the mind and the mouth, all of that. So we’re kind of approaching it from a different angle. It’s not a cookie-cutter dental practice by any means.”
She finds her job immensely rewarding, as she knows she is helping patients with their health care.
“At the end of the day, people think dentistry is different — that it’s a luxury, and it’s not. it’s part of your health care. Your mouth is the first place that disease shows up,” she said, adding there’s more than just teeth in peoples’ mouths.
“There’s your gums, there’s saliva, there’s glands … there’s all sorts of things happening in there.”
She also likes to educate her clients, and uses technology to help.
“We have all the cameras, the scans … we have a TV set up, and we take the time to take all the diagnostics and actually show you what we’re looking at. So the patient can actually understand, you know, why are we suggesting this?”
