VIP suites are coming to the Longhorn Saloon.

As part of the 133rd Country Fair, the Cloverdale Rodeo and Exhibition Association (CREA) is adding VIP rooms to the famous music venue.

“Skip the line, stroll right into your private suite, and get ready for a great night at the Red Barn,” promises a promotional email from CREA.

There are four Longhorn VIP rooms available over three nights, so only 12 suites total will be available to be booked over the weekend.

Cost for each suite is $2,500 and can accommodate up to 12 people.

Rick Hugh, 1st vice-president of CREA, told the Cloverdale Reporter VIP guests can expect an “elevated” experience in more ways than one.

“The suites will be on the north side of the Longhorn, where the bleacher area used to be,” explained Hugh. “That area will have the private suites, which will include access to private washrooms and a whole lot of other extras. So you’ll get a bird’s eye view of the action.”

Along with VIP entrance access and a private suite for 12, Hugh said some of those extras include: personal server for drink orders, cooler with a dozen beverages, 12 food truck vouchers, snacks, a seating area, in and out privileges until 11 p.m., 12 VIP gifts, three parking passes, and general gate admission for 12.

“We wanted to bring something extra for guests,” added Hugh. “Depending on how this goes this year, we may expand it next year.”

Hugh said the inspiration for adding the the suites was based on the Calgary Stampede.

“They do something similar and it’s gone over well there.”

The Longhorn Saloon has a full lineup booked for Rodeo Weekend. Artists include: DJ Jack Daniels, Dave Hartney Band, Tumblin’ Dice, Apaloosa, and Chris Buck Band will play at 10:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 19.
