A temporary “pop-up” at Guildford Town Centre welcomes the coffee and sweet treats of The Palm Café.

Operators of the Abbotsford eatery partnered with the Surrey shopping mall to create “Surfside,” opened Wednesday (May 1) for a month-plus in the Centre Court area.

Photo-ops are promised along with “the buzz of a beachside boardwalk” until June 9, during mall hours.

Shoppers can buy a special iced “Coconut Dream” beverage, crafted exclusively for “Surfside” to evoke “the sensation of lounging on a beach and featuring espresso and white chocolate topped off with coconut sweet cream cold foam,” according to the hype from Nine Point Agency.

Established in 2021 by mother-daughter duo Lorraine and Natalie Hansen, The Palm Café started in a refurbished horse trailer in Abbotsford, followed by a move into space at Highstreet mall in 2022.
